My friend Bev took me to a party on a barge moored at Faversham creek. There was a band playing (Stormy Monday). I was introduced to the host Nick and he was very polite and I thought a bit unusual. Later on in the evening I saw him dancing..and this is when I got interested. He was doing this serious mad dad dancing with arms and legs jerking out to the beat of the music, totally oblivious to any onlookers, just 'going for it' and having fun. He was unique and confident and very, very funny. He walked me home that night and came in for a cup of tea. When he left he said "what a charming evening this has been" in his public school voice! He phoned the next day and the rest is history!
